Top 10 Spots to visit in LA for great photos !
I live for picturesque locations! After my short but amazing trip to LA, I actually managed to slot some sightseeing time in between meetings and shot a ton of great photos! If you haven’t followed me on Instagram, you should! Ton more pictures to share!
Anyhoo, here are my Top 10 Spots (not only for great pictures but you’ll have so much fun there as well)
1. The infamous Paul Smith Pink Wall on Melrose
Tips: Don’t go here if it’s too sunny out unless you want harsh shadows in your pictures.
2. The ‘Made In LA’ wall that’s not too far from the Pink Wall
Tips: This is when yoga really came in handy for those back bends trying to get the wall in its entirety into the photo!
3. Rodeo Drive (pronounced Row-day-o and not Ro-de-o, yea I’ve been saying it wrong for a long time)
Great architecture and cool European doors. I particularly fell in love with the flight of stairs
Tips: Foot traffic is insane but one thing Emily (@hausofhounds) and I noticed, is that if you have cool poses and a fancy looking camera (that’s not your iPhone), people actually stop to avoid your frame.
4. Santa Monica
One of the many stunning beaches in LA, there’s also a ferris wheel there that many people use as a backdrop for photos!
5. Venice Beach / Abbott Kinney
Okay, I’ve only been here that one time because it was pretty far out for me to get to. It’s so stunning though, lots of stores, restaurants, the beach and coloured walls with character!
6. LACMA’s Famous Giant Lightbulbs
Ah yes, the lightbulbs that you might or might not have seen in a bunch of my pictures haha! They are beautifully white in the day, and stunning as they light up at night. You’ll also find alot of people taking shots in between.
Tip: After that, you can visit the LACMA Museum!
7. Hotel Bel Air
One of my friends got married here and it’s like something out of a Disney storybook. A small lake, european-inspired architecture, cute bridges, swans and balconies for your choosing.
8. The Grove
Mainly a shopping district but if you can find a spot with little foot traffic, lucky you! I love the fountain in the middle. So dreamy! Also be sure to check out the Farmer’s Market- I found the cutest little Sticker store <3
9. Getty Villa
Never actually managed to get to this one BUT from the pictures I found online, it looks beautiful for pictures! Long hallways, luscious green and great floors! (Gotta get those #ihaveathingwithfloors shots)
10. CUPCAKE ATM
This is just my personal favourite. I’ve had an obsession with the Cupcake ATM from the very first time I saw it on Instagram. And it was even more amusing in person. I still remember the cupcake jingle. *I love Sprinkles*
There you have it! Wish I could’ve found more places but everything is really spread out and with LA Traffic, 5 days really wasn’t enough.
