Vancouver is a hub for emerging talent and creativity, one that never stops and continues to grow. Having the opportunity to be immersed in this world of fashion and entertainment, I am blessed and at the same time, excited when new earth shakers enter the industry and make an impact.
I was part of the Power of Women event in Support of the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. This was an event, founded by Penny Chan and Cynthia Tsang, two women who wanted to create something new and different and bring that into the Vancouver fashion scene. They stood by the idea of maintaining a certain aura of class to their event, and I was grateful to be a part of it.
The P.O.W (very fittingly named) event was held at a venue that I’ve never been to, The Terminal City Club in Vancouver, located right by the Vancouver Convention Centre. Such a beautiful venue for an event of ladies and gents all dressed up in pink. I mean, what girl doesn’t want the excuse to dress up?
I attended the event as one of the Masters of Ceremony along with Mr Joel, who is one of the most jovial gents I’ve met and I was thoroughly impressed with the amount of prep and vendors, as well as sponsors that were there to support an event with a great cause behind it!
I have now experienced the joy of FLIPBOOK (if you want to see it in action, make sure to keep tabs on my Instagram because I’ll be posting it soon). It basically revolutionizes the idea of the normal photobooth. It takes a 7 second video instead and translates that into your personalized lil’ souvenir to take home. Very cool.
Such fun to be joined by fellow fashion bloggers in the city, Britta (Vancouver Vogue) and Rosalia (Style Love) to judge the volunteer fashion show, and again, so amazed by the level of outgoing-ness by all the participants, you guys were awesome.
Keep an eye out for these ladies from Pink Ladies Events and what they come up with next!
