Pink I The Colour Series

Spring-Outfit-Details

I hope you’re just as excited for this as I am! The Colour Series is something that I’ve been working on for some time and I’ve been amazed at how different colours can affect your mind and body in so many ways! My hopes is that after this series is completed, you’ll be excited to learn more about how colours work in branding and influencing our subconscious. This is just the tip of the iceberg, with so much more to discover. So here it is! The C O L O U R Series starts off with P I N K !!

Any idea why it’s called #PinkShirtDay for Anti Bullying Awareness? Besides the fact that the movement started because a boy was teased for wearing pink, the colour pink also serves to calm the mind.
An interesting fact that I found out is that in prisons, there is something known as the Drunk-Tank Pink, where prisoners who display aggressive behaviours are placed in a room with light pink shades for a short period of time- and it works to calm and lower aggressive acts of inmates.

Pink is a colour that calms because it is non-threatening. It’s hard to put a finger on how to describe it, if I had to describe it in one word- the only thing I can think of is that it’s a ‘pretty’ colour.

Pink also signifies love and romance. The feminine side of women. E.g :Victoria Secret is ALL pink. An individual who wears or loves pink is said to be very in touch with their feminine side, having a very maternal, nurturing aspect about themselves. It identifies with the characteristics of someone who longs for love and affection.

Pink – a tint of the colour red, is different in how it affects an individual physically and emotionally. It acts to calm, and soothe as opposed to stimulate. In colour psychology, Pink is the colour of HOPE.

When I was doing my research on the colour, it’s fascinating to note that different shades of pink have different effects. If you pay attention, you don’t feel the same way when you look at someone wearing light, baby pink as opposed to hot pink. And if you’re like me, you really don’t know what it is you’re feeling, but it just doesn’t quite feel the same.

That’s because light pink calms, but hot pink shares similar properties to red. Hot pink stimulates the mind more.
