Growing up, who was your first style icon? Who inspired/dictated your style choices? For me, my mum was my first style icon! Children mimic their parents- You base life and expectations from the first people closest to you and fashion is no exception.
My mother loves, and I mean LOVES to look good. Flowing skirts, bright colours, bold prints, layering, dayum.. this woman was a fashionista before I got out of diapers. It’s no wonder why I naturally gravitate to similar themes- colours, and fitting dresses, flowy skirts!
Of course, how can one forget shopping times with mum. For me, it went from picking my first pair of glasses, tiny frilly dresses (she loved to dress me like a doll, haha!) to my first stiletto. Even now, vintage pieces are so in and my mother’s wardrobe is literally like a treasure chest of stuff that I borrow and well.. forget to return.
