Bloggers Guide to Packing for a Vacation

You might call it an obsession but I look at it as a constant awareness or exercising creativity on- the- go!!

How do you balance taking just the right amount of of clothing that would serve the purpose of practicality (i.e- keeping you warm), looking stylish AND still look different for the different OOTD pictures you’re going to take (lets be real) and still ensure that you don’t overpack?!!

How many different coloured beanies should I pack to match the different outfits, but .. I don’t want the same coat in all the pictures- yes, my inner struggle.

So after my multiple family/solo trips, I’ve come up with a few tips!

1. Double Duty clothing

Don’t be a hero. Don’t decide to wear dresses when it’s winter and you’re travelling to Edmonton, Alberta. Like come on.

So what do I mean by double duty clothing- I’m talking about sweaters that could be long enough to fake a dress, can be worn with pants but also can be hidden under a coat, BUT ALSO can be shot on its own- TADA 3 different looks for photos and you won’t freeze to death. You also pack lighter!

2. Wear your larger/heavier pieces heading to/back from the trip

You save space in your luggage and carry them on your body instead muahahaha I’m genius

3. Max two pairs of shoes

Or go with one pair if you can do it!!! And let it be warm boots as it’s the winter edition. Shoes also take a huge amount of space!!

Just like.. take the pictures from knee/waist up!

4. Pack lighter items so you can bring more

Like I said, this is easier in the summer or if you’re travelling to somewhere warm. Sun dresses are much easier to roll up and carry than big sweaters are!
